Festivals run on volunteers. Spend a shift or a whole weekend with lovely, like-minded people, hear a lot of good singing, and take home a free t-shirt and a ticket to the after party.

Tell us what you'd enjoy and when you're free. We'll be in touch closer to the date with shifts, and you can always say no to one.

The jobs

What you'd actually be doing

Nobody is thrown in cold. We tell you what your shift involves before the day, and there's always someone to ask.

Ticketing
Welcoming people in, checking tickets on a phone or a list, handing out weekend passes, and taking payments at the door.
Merch table
Selling festival merch and the visiting groups' albums, and keeping track of what sold for whom.
Silent auction
Setting out the tables and items, answering questions, and keeping an eye on the bid sheets.
Ushering
Greeting people at the door, showing them to their seats and handing out programs. A lot of standing.
Set-up
Tables, chairs, risers, water. Some lifting and bending.
Teardown
The same in reverse once everyone's gone home, plus the washing up.
Backstage & green room
Looking after the performers: water and snacks, lozenges and safety pins, and knowing who's on next.
Bar service
Serving drinks under Alberta's rules, so this one needs a current ProServe certificate.
Driving & pickups
Fetching the thing nobody realised was missing. Easiest if you have a vehicle.
Food & drinks
Keeping singers, presenters and volunteers fed and watered through a long day.
Photos & video
Capturing the weekend, so next year's posters aren't made of stock photos.
Planning next year
The year-round part: helping plan, book and organise the next festival.
