Coming to a show

Access

We'd rather you asked us than stayed home. Here's what we know, what we'll publish, and how to tell us what you need.

Ask us anything, before you book

Email info@singedmonton.com and a person from the festival will answer. Tell us what you need and we'll tell you honestly whether we can manage it, and what the room is actually like. We'd rather have that conversation early than have you arrive to a surprise.

What we publish for every venue

As soon as a venue is booked, its page here gets:

  • which entrance to use, and whether the route from the street is step-free
  • stairs and elevators, and how many steps if there are any
  • where the accessible washroom is
  • seating for wheelchair users and companions, and what you can see from it
  • accessible parking and how far it is to the door, and the nearest transit stop
  • whether there's a hearing loop or assisted listening
  • whether there's a quieter space to step out to

If there's something on that list we can't confirm for a venue, we'll say so rather than leave it blank.

Things that are true at all our events

  • Service animals are welcome.
  • If you need a support person with you, email us before you book and we'll work it out.
  • Tell us about seating you need and we'll hold it rather than leaving it to chance.
  • You can leave and come back during a concert. Nobody will mind.

What we're working on

We're a volunteer-run charity, and there are things we don't have yet: relaxed performances, ASL interpretation, printed programs in large print. If one of those would make the difference for you, say so. It helps us argue for the money to do it.

If something goes wrong

Tell us. Email info@singedmonton.com or find someone in a SING! shirt on the day. We'd rather fix it than find out later.
